In what sounds like a news report coming out of China, Toronto Dominion Bank has seized over $400,000 from personal banking accounts that held donations for the Freedom Convoy.
"TD has asked the court to accept the funds, which were raised through crowdfunding and deposited into personal accounts at TD, so they may be managed and distributed in accordance with the intentions of the donors, and/or to be returned to the donors who have requested refunds but whose entitlement to a refund cannot be determined by TD,” spokesperson Carla Hindman said, as reported by CTV news.
What's particularly disturbing about this is that donators sent that money specifically to be used by the Freedom Convoy, so seizing it from them is doing the exact opposite of what donors had intended. This raises serious concerns within regards to inflation issues, as we have seen banking institutions from different countries seize personal funds from the general public in times of recession or economic depression. This time, this Canadian bank is stealing money donated to help fight for our rights and freedoms.
With the police forces in the country of Canada actively monitoring the social media accounts of Freedom Convoy protestors, and then visiting them at their homes, how long before TD bank begins taking money from people just because they are Freedom Convoy supporters?
If you are currently banking with TD, as I am, it is time to withdrawal your holdings and close your accounts. 1. This financial institution needs to realize that, we the people, are the ones who actually run this country. And 2. Withdrawing funds and closing accounts will hurt their profitability from now, into the future.
