Bio

Luke Sharp is an independent recording artist, said to have been born under a full moon on a little Indian reservation in Ontario, Canada. He's a member of his tribe's Bear Clan, known as the protectors of their people. He first fell in love with the art of hip-hop at age 13, the same year his parents divorced, seemingly coming into his life to fill an enormous void left in the wake of his family falling apart. A self proclaimed student of the game, Luke spent all of his free time growing up freestyling, "writing raps", and studying the legends who came before him, consumed with the goal of becoming the best emcee he could be.

From thirteen onward, Luke had felt like he was living two separate lives, walking with one foot in the light and the other in the dark. On one hand excelling in athletics such as baseball, and on the other dealing with anger issues and experimenting with drug use. After keeping both lives separate for some time, his problems began surfacing in "blow ups" he would have during his sports games. His introspective nature led him to realize something was wrong, so he took a year off of sports. It was at this time he came to understand one thing would always there for him: hip-hop.

Luke Sharp was fortunate enough to record his first studio record at age 15 in his high school's recording studio with the help of a childhood friend named Steeve. After this and other local mixtapes, as well as freestyling at parties, he quickly became known throughout his town as "that kid that raps". While travelling every weekend to the U.S to play for Team Ontario in baseball tournaments, he was simultaneously building relationships with local drug hustlers, with dreams of becoming one. Still evidently stuck living mankind's oldest tale, the battle inside one's self between the light and the dark.

Driven by his struggle to cope with his troubled home life and the accompanying problems trying to escape it, Luke was arrested multiple times in a short span from drunk in public citations to assault charges. It was at this time he decided to turn his life around, choosing to focus more on academics and athletics, while beginning to release music online through myspace and reverberation. After amassing thousands of myspace fans, him and his close friend and producer Stan D released mixtape Three Day Blaze, quickly becoming a top 10 hip-hop artist on reverberation, and leading to his first international performance in Long Island, New York.

He would go on to attend college to play baseball and study journalism while still perfecting his hip-hop craft, but trouble once again began to brew in Luke Sharp's life. His college funding was pulled after attending for two years, his relationship with long time girlfriend and high school sweetheart ended, and his local baseball team folded. Feeling helpless and alone, and with his college plans foiled, he would turn back to the street, beginning to use and sell drugs once again.

Some time later his close friend, big brother and local hood hero would pass away. This was the final straw that led Luke back to the light, inspiring him to want to be the difference in his community that would hopefully inspire others to defeat their own demons. He moved to California to continue working on his music career, and would go on to release a mixtape through coast to coast mixtapes titled "The Pretape". After growing a sizeable online following, he released his first real album "This Is Me", his introduction to online platforms such as iTunes and Spotify.

Realizing he needed to help his little brother escape the same perils that plagued his own life, Luke put his music on hold for some time, while trying to help his little brother chase his dreams of playing pro ball and to show him better things are possible off the reservation. After a few years away, Luke Sharp released a compilation album called "The Lost Tapes" comprised of his best unreleased songs, and is currently back focused on his true passion: making hip-hop music. The journey continues...
